Baghdad, Feb 14, (VOI) – Main security developments in Iraq on Wednesday:

Basra- A spokesman for the British forces said on Wednesday a British military cargo plane crashed late on February 12 after an emergency landing in the southern Iraqi province of Missan. Two passengers were slightly wounded in the crash, he added.

Diala- Iraqi police sources said on Wednesday 47 gunmen were killed and 39 others were detained during a series of military operation in Diala province.

Samawa- The southern Iraqi city of Samawa was placed on Wednesday under a day-long-curfew after the body of a Sadrist leader was found in the city. Later, two policemen were killed in Samawa, a police source.

Kirkuk- A suicide bomber detonated on Wednesday a truck crammed with explosives at a police station in west of Kirkuk, killing two policemen and wounding four others, a police source said.

Baghdad- The U.S. army said on Wednesday two soldiers were killed throughout Iraq.
