Round-up of Key Violent Incidents Across Iraq

Baghdad, Feb 23, (VOI) – Main security developments in Iraq on Friday:

Diala- Seven unidentified bodies found in several areas in the city of Baaquba, the capital of Diyala province, 57 km north of Baghdad, were received by a public hospital on Friday, a medic said.

Baghdad- A U.S. soldier was killed and three others were wounded when an explosive device went off at their patrol near Diwaniyah, 180 km south of Baghdad, the U.S. army said on Friday.

Diala- Unidentified gunmen shot down two persons near a coffee house in the district of al-Khalis, Diyala province, 57 km northeast of Baghdad, an Iraqi police source said on Friday.

Baghdad- The U.S. army said on Friday three U.S. soldiers were killed in combat operations on Thursday in Anbar province, 110 km west of Baghdad.

Baghdad- Iraqi police forces arrested on Friday eight gunmen in several raids to different parts throughout Babel province, a police source said.

Diala- Two Iraqi gunmen blew themselves up as they were planting an explosive charge on one of the main highways in Muqdadiya, east of Diala province, a police source said.

Falluja- Three civilians were killed and 13 others were wounded on Friday when mortar rounds landed on Albo Alwan village, west of Falluja city, an Iraqi police source said.
