BAGHDAD - A car bomb explosion targeting an Iraqi Army patrol in Rubai’i Street in the Zayouna district of eastern Baghdad killed 20 people and wounded 20 others, police said, according to Reuters and VOI. Four Iraqi soldiers were among the dead.
BAGHDAD - At least four people were killed and five others wounded by a car bomb explosion inside a parking lot outside the Iranian Embassy near the fortified Green Zone in central Baghdad on Tuesday morning, police said, according to Reuters.
BAGHDAD - Three people were killed and five wounded in a drive-by shooting as people queued for petrol in the central Baghdad district of Mansour, police said, according to Reuters.
BAGHDAD – Eyewitnesses said a civilian was killed and four others wounded when U.S. military helicopters bombed the Kamaliya district of eastern Baghdad on Monday night, according to McClatchy newspapers.

An Association of Muslim Scholars in Iraq statement today said armed residents were repelling an attack by Mahdi Army militiamen backed by Iraqi troops in the area.
BAGHDAD – U.S. and Iraqi troops raided and searched the offices and residence of Sunni politician Adnan Al-Dulaimi, head of the Iraqi Accord Front, in the Adil district of west Baghdad on Tuesday afternoon, a spokesman for the Iraqi People’s Congress said today. Dulaimi had escaped an assassination attempt on Sunday when a roadside bomb hit his convoy, and one of his guards was killed when an Iraqi Army vehicle ran over him outside Dulaimi’s residence on Monday. The spokesman, Abu Iraq Al-Issawi said this was the 10th raid on Dulaimi’s residence.
BAGHDAD – Iraqi troops killed 20 suspected militants and detained 20 others in different parts of the capital on Tuesday, a Baghdad Operations Command statement said today. Iraqi troops also freed six people from their kidnappers in Mansour, Taji and Rasheed and confiscated several weapon caches, according to the statement. Three Iraqi soldiers were killed and nine wounded during the operations.
BAGHDAD – Colonel Qassim Atta, an Iraqi Army spokesman, said Iraqi troops discovered 14 sacks of TNT explosives during a raid in west Baghdad’s Adil district on Tuesday, adding that three people were freed from their kidnappers and four suspects detained in the same district.

RABIA – The Iraqi Army captured an inmate who had escaped the Badush prison north west of Mosul while he was attempting to enter into Syria near the Rabi’a border town north west of Mosul on Tuesday, according to WNA.
MOSUL – A soldier was killed and 12 others wounded in a suicide car bomb explosion near a recently opened Iraqi Army base in the Salam district of southeastern Mosul on Tuesday evening, police said, according to VOI.
MOSUL – Gunmen broke into the Khansaa’ maternity hospital in Mosul and killed a nurse on Tuesday, according to WNA.
MOSUL – The Iraqi Army killed two militants who were planting a roadside bomb in the Dumiz district of southern Mosul on Tuesday, Colonel Mutta’ Habib Al-Khazraji, commander of the 2nd Iraqi Army Division, said today. Col. Al-Khazraji added that his troops captured 15 suspected Islamic State of Iraq militants during raids in the Saddam district of northeastern Mosul. Three other suspected militants were killed and two detained in the Tall Al-Ruman area of southern Mosul, he said.
QARAQOSH – A Christian civilian was killed when KDP Peshmerga fighters opened fire on his vehicle while he was passing near their patrol in the predominately Christian town of Qaraqosh (south east of Mosul) on Tuesday, according to Nirgal Gate.
GAYYARA – The U.S. military said it captured a suspected Al-Qaeda in Iraq leader in Gayyara south of Mosul on Sunday.
DIBIS – Police detained nine suspected militants on their way to Kirkuk from Mosul near Dibis (25 km north east of Kirkuk) on Tuesday, according to a Kirkuk police source.
TAZA – Police detained 19 suspected militants during raids at the Mamdouda and Initsar villages near Taza (20 km south of Kirkuk) on Tuesday, a Kirkuk police source said.
SAMARRA - Gunmen ambushed and killed the director of Dhulu’iya hospital, Dr. Rafi’ Alwan, and wounded three other hospital employees south of Samarra (100 km north of Baghdad) on Tuesday morning, police and medical sources said, according to Reuters and VOI.
BALAD - Gunmen at a fake checkpoint shot and killed Judge Hamdi Habib Al-Jubouri at the Hatemiya area east of Balad (80 km north of Baghdad), police said. The source said the gunmen were dressed in police uniforms.
WAJIHIYA - Gunmen dressed in military uniforms opened random fire on civilians in the predominately Shi’ite Duwailiya village near Wajihiya, killing 29 people and wounding four others on Monday night, Diyala police said.
MUQDADIYA – Gunmen broke into a house and killed 12 people from one family in the Askari district of Muqdadiya north east of Baghdad on Tuesday, according to WNA.
MUQDADIYA – Gunmen shot and killed two women in the Qizilja village near Muqdadiya on Tuesday, according to WNA.

FALLUJAH – Four policemen were killed when gunmen attacked their patrol in the Ba’ath district of Fallujah (45 km west of Baghdad) on Tuesday afternoon, police said, according to VOI and WNA.
FALLUJAH – Three policemen were killed and four wounded when militants attacked their checkpoint in the Shuhadaa’ district of Fallujah, police said, according to WNA. Three militants were killed and two detained during the clashes.
AKASHAT – Militants attacked an electric power substation in Akashat near the Syrian border with rocket-propelled grenades and machine gun fire on Tuesday, security sources said, according to WNA. The Akashat substation provides electric power to the desert town of Rutba and the Tenef and Traibeel border centers in the western Anbar governorate.
MAHMOUDIYA – Iraqi troops captured a suspected Islamic State in Iraq commander in Mahmoudiya, an Iraqi Army statement said today.
YUSUFIYA - A bomb killed one policeman and wounded four other people in Yusufiya (30 km south of Baghdad) police said.
JURF AL-SAKHAR - Five people were killed in clashes between suspected Islamic State of Iraq militants and Islamic Army insurgents near Jurf Al-Sakhar (85 km south of Baghdad), police said, according to Reuters.
MAHAWIL – Police found the bodies of a civilian and an Iraqi soldier in Mahawil on Tuesday, police said.
MAHAWIL – Five civilians were wounded in a mortar attack on the Tahiriya area near Mahawil on Tuesday, police said. A Babel police spokesman said U.S. troops fired the mortars on the area, adding that it was not the first time the U.S. military fired indiscriminately at residential districts in the area, in response to attacks.
WAHDA – Gunmen killed a truck driver and set his truck on fire on the main Kut-Baghdad highway near the suburb of Wahda (30 km south east of Baghdad) on Tuesday, police said.
SUWAYRA - Police recovered five unidentified bodies from the Tigris River in the town of Suwayra south east of Baghdad, police said. The bodies bore gunshot wounds and signs of torture, the source said.
DIWANIYA – Eyewitnesses said a roadside bomb exploded targeting a joint U.S.-Iraqi military patrol in the Jaza’er district of Diwaniya on Tuesday evening, according to WNA. U.S. and Iraqi troops clashed with gunmen after the explosion, the sources said. There were no reports of casualties.
DIWANIYA – U.S. troops raided the home of Sheikh Mohammed Al-Gar’awi, a Sadrist official and preacher, in the Furat district of Diwaniya on Tuesday, a Sadr Bureau source said. Al-Gar’awi was not at his home at the time of the raid.
AMARA – A police officer was killed and a policeman wounded when police clashed with a criminal gang in the Askari district of Amara (390 km south of Baghdad) on Tuesday, police said, according to VOI.
NASIRIYA – A roadside bomb exploded outside the home of Hajj Abu Furqan, head of the Dhi Qar bureau of the Da’wa Party – Iraq Organization, in the Salihiya area north of Nasiriya without casualties on Tuesday, police said, according to WNA.
NASIRIYA – Iraqi police defused a roadside bomb planted outside the Mahdi Army militia headquarters in Nasiriya on Tuesday afternoon, according to WNA.
BASRAH – Police found two unidentified bodies shot execution style in Basrah on Tuesday, police said, according to WNA.
BASRAH – A civilian was killed in clashes between British troops and militiamen near the joint coordination center in Hakimiya on Monday night, police said.
BASRAH – The Basrah Police Command headquarters in Hakimiya was hit by 15 Katyusha rockets and 17 mortar rounds on Tuesday, police said.
BASRAH – The British military base in the Basrah International Airport was hit by indirect fire without casualties, a British military spokesman said today. All flights from the airport were canceled today after a runway was damaged by rocket fire, according to WNA.
