The Spice Girls may regret telling fans "exactly where we perform is down to you and your votes," since their website has reportedly generated thousands of votes requesting Baghdad be anointed one of the chosen "Spice Cities" for the ladies' world reunion tour.

Reuniting after almost a decade hiatus, the Spice Girls set up a website inviting fans to vote for the city nearest them. London's Daily Mirror reports a source close to the girls said: "Baghdad's already generated thousands of votes and it'll definitely be a contender when the voting ends."

A Spice Girls spokesman has said that the group would "go anywhere in the world that gets the most votes - be it Baghdad or Antarctica."

The group has already announced dates for about 15 concerts in early 2008, but the voting hasn't closed yet. So for all our readers in Baghdad, if you want to watch Posh, Scary, Sporty, Slutty, and Dopey lipsynch bad 90s pop in garishly shiny and skimpy attire, here's the link to cast your vote.
