02/25/2009 6:23 PM ET

BAGHDAD – According to a source inside the Iraqi Army, on Tuesday, a joint Iraqi police/army raid in Mosul netted four suspects, wanted for the deaths of both US and Iraqi soldiers. Several guns and four RPGs were found at their hideout, in the al-Baker district of Mosul. Two of them had obtained fake IDs, and were attempting to infiltrate Iraqi security forces in Salahadin province.

At least some of them are said to have confessed to targeting US and Iraqi forces with IEDs, car bombs, and specifically, sniper killings of US soldiers.

Zeid Khalif Jasim al-Abasi, Hameed Jasim Thi’a al-Abasi, Hafeth Mohammed Jasim al-Abasi and Reath Nasif Jasim al-Abasi (all related) are thought to have connections to the Iraqi Islamic Army insurgent group, and possible others as well.

The two who were in the process of joining Salahadin security forces will be taken to the province for further interrogation.
