Iraqi Army and Police forces staged a joint raid on the social services administration building in the provincial capital Ba'qouba on Friday, security sources told Slogger. The raiding forces arrested the administration’s special inspector, Mr. Rafa' Na’if, who has been accused of corruption and mismanagement. The social services directorate would not provide further comment.

Seven houses were burned in a village in the Khanqin district in northern Diyala province last week, in an apparent arson attack. After the attack on Tuesday, residents told Slogger that Kurdish intelligence forces known as Asayish installed checkpoints around the 'Alayala village, the site of the apparent arson attack, establishing a security cordon around the district. Locals told Slogger that the inspections particularly targeted Arab travelers entering and exiting the area.
